Catholics, why don’t your priests listen to Jesus?
A priest recently used this scripture with me to claim that Jesus has given priests justification to “RULE” the Church of God. The bible they use says:
(Act 20:28 DRB) Take heed to yourselves and to the whole flock, wherein the Holy Ghost hath placed you bishops, to RULE the Church of God which he hath purchased with his own blood. [caps mine]
But the King James Bible says:
Act 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to FEED the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. [caps mine]
Are priests really to be called “RULERS” or “masters?” What did Jesus say?
Mat 23:10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.
And did Jesus tell Peter to “Rule” his flock? No, rather, Jesus said:
“Jesus said to Simon Peter…“Feed my little sheep.”… “Shepherd my little sheep.” (John 21:15-17)
They are taught by man and know not God nor his son.
